Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 14, 2026

MARVI OCEAN ("we," "us," "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information. This policy explains what we collect, why, how we use and store it, and what rights you have. We handle your data in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), regardless of whether our turnover currently meets the threshold for mandatory compliance.

By using marviocean.com or making a purchase, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. What We Collect

We collect personal information you provide directly, and some information collected automatically.

Information you provide:

Name, email address, phone number
Shipping and billing address
Order and purchase history
Any information you send us via contact forms or email

Information collected automatically:

Device and browser information
IP address and approximate location
Pages visited, time on site, and general browsing behaviour (via cookies and analytics tools)

Payment information:

We do not collect or store your full payment card details. Payments are processed securely by our payment provider, under their own security and compliance standards.

2. Why We Collect It

We collect and use personal information to:

Process, fulfil, and ship your orders
Respond to enquiries and provide customer support
Send order confirmations, shipping updates, and — if you opt in — marketing communications
Detect and prevent fraud or misuse of our site
Understand and improve how our website performs
Meet our legal and tax obligations as an Australian business

We only collect what's reasonably necessary for these purposes.

3. How We Store and Protect It

Your information is stored using secure, reputable third-party platforms — including our e-commerce platform and payment processor — each maintaining their own industry-standard security measures. We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect your data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No online system is entirely immune to risk, but we don't take data security lightly.

Our store is powered by Shopify, which also processes personal information to help operate and secure the platform. You can read more about how Shopify handles data at privacy.shopify.com.

If we become aware of a data breach likely to result in serious harm, we'll notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC), in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

4. Who We Share It With

We share personal information only where necessary to operate the business:

Service providers — our e-commerce platform, payment processor, and shipping carriers, solely to fulfil and deliver your order
Manufacturing and fulfilment partner — our production partner receives the shipping details needed to produce and dispatch your order directly to you
Analytics providers — to understand site usage, in aggregated or de-identified form where possible
Legal or regulatory bodies — only if required by law

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.

5. Cookies

Our site uses cookies and similar technologies to keep your cart working, remember preferences, and understand site traffic. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, though some site features may not work as intended without them.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Ask what personal information we hold about you
Request corrections to inaccurate information
Request deletion of your information, where we're not required to keep it for legal or tax purposes
Opt out of marketing communications at any time
Lodge a complaint with us, or with the OAIC, if you believe your privacy has been breached

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

7. International Visitors

If you're shopping with us from outside Australia, your information is processed and stored in accordance with this policy and Australian law, which may differ from the privacy laws in your own country.

8. Our Conservation Giving

We set aside $1 AUD from every order to donate to Sea Shepherd Australia, with donations transferred on a monthly basis. This is a donation arrangement, not a data-sharing partnership — we do not share any customer personal information with Sea Shepherd Australia or any other conservation organisation.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The date at the top of this page always reflects the most current version. We encourage you to review it periodically.

10. Contact

Questions about this policy, or a request to exercise your privacy rights, are always welcome via our Contact page.
